Airport Report October 2015

Created on Saturday, 07 November 2015 Written by Doug Dugger

During the month of October 2015 there were 14 flight operations at our airport.  There were no medevac operations during October 2014, and no Law Enforcement operations.  This represents a decrease in October traffic, which is usually the end of the flying season.

We have gotten a little more rain in October than is usual.  This tends to keep the operations to a minimum.  But it also increases the value of the bad weather operations for emergency flights.   Without the runway in bad weather, there are simply times when a helicopter cannot land without the assurance of the runway facilities.

Thankfully it looks like winter is coming, and the airport is now ready for the cold and rain.  As soon as it rains, we will once again be in the spraying business.  I think all of us are happy to have had a very safe and successful year at the airport.
